About Me

Dr. Bianca Calderone

I began my journey at a young age as an avid soccer player back in kindergarten. Movement has always a part of my life from being outside on my bike every day to the multiple soccer practices and training sessions over the years. Continuing to live out my soccer dream, I was recruited to play at Northeastern University and pursued a career in physical therapy. I sustained an ACL injury my freshman year, which ended my season. I spent the year recovering from surgery, gaining an appreciation for my field. During my rehabilitation, I was exposed to the Postural Respiration Institute (PRI) and their model of incorporating all systems of the body to address pain and dysfunction. I was intrigued to learn more and sought out multiple courses on PRI, breathing mechanics, somatic functioning, biomechanics, and pain science. I returned from injury the following year with a growing knowledge on these concepts and was the first Northeastern women’s soccer player drafted into the National Women’s Soccer League to the Boston Breakers. I can confidently say that none of it would have been possible without the help from the people that took the time to address my underlying cause of injury and dysfunctional patterning. They empowered me to take control over my body and helped me regain confidence in myself.

I graduated from Northeastern in 2017 with my PhD in Physical Therapy and received my certification in strength and conditioning (CSCS). I currently have over 6 years of experience in the field working with all ages, but specializing in orthopedic injuries, especially ACL reconstruction rehabilitation. I have worked with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes in their journey to return to sport including athletes in the NFL, NHL, MLB, and FIFA. I am a lifelong learner that takes every opportunity to improve my practice to provide the best care to my patients. I enjoy using my history of sports performance to “bridge the gap" between rehabilitation and training. My treatment style is individualized, one on one, and holistic in my approach. I strive to address the root cause of issues and pain to help people achieve their own success stories and regain control of their lives.

What people had to say about BC7 Performance…

"I worked with Bianca after having ACL surgery, before heading back to school at Northeastern University. What separates her from other therapists that I have worked with is her ability to connect with her patients. She listened to my needs and concerns and developed a thorough treatment plan. She tailored each session, specifically adjusting each exercise, to achieve a pain free workout while rebuilding my strength. Her knowledge and experience as a student athlete is truly what helped my recovery both physically and mentally. I would recommend Bianca to anyone who wants to become the best version of themselves!”

“I saw Bianca when I had a sprained ankle and a recurring knee problem. From the beginning, she was great not only focusing on healing my injuries, but also finding ways to address the root cause around the areas to truly help maximize my performance. I highly recommend her for those that are committed to enhancing strength and trying to perform at a high level.
